About Me (Shifty)

 

Hello all!

I am James and sometimes go as Shifty. I currently work full-time as a Senior Microcomputer Systems Analyst and additionally I am a full-time student enrolled at the University of Arizona Global Campus. As a full-time student, I am pursuing a degree in Information Technology. My desire to obtain this degree came from my time serving in the Air Force, in which I performed various jobs all surrounding a form of security. These jobs ranged from monitoring alarms, cameras, security systems, remote systems, managing different programs, facilitating different network system maintenance, and other awesome opportunities. All these experiences have some form of IT aspect in them which is how my curiosity began and led to my current aspirations. My goal is to eventually take my enjoyment of security and IT and apply them to a career in cyber security. Since my previous experiences do not involve being directly in the IT field, I will have to build a stronger foundation to achieve my goals. I am lucky enough to have the current position I have and use this opportunity to develop / build my skills while gaining some tremendous experience. During my course of studies, I am hoping to apply what I learn to my work and vice versa. Which will provide me with the best learning experience.
